Helmbeam vs TIKR: which fits the way you research stocks?

TIKR fits detailed financial-history and valuation research. Helmbeam fits discovering a company, examining its development and keeping a reason to return.

There is substantial overlap in company research, and TIKR also offers screening and idea discovery. We make Helmbeam. TIKR's features below are based on public documentation checked on 19 September 2026, not hands-on paid-tier testing.

Updated

TIKR is relevant when the question needs detailed data

TIKR documents company financials, ratios, valuation history, estimates, transcripts, screening and valuation-model tools. It can suit research that needs a longer operating record or repeated comparisons across companies.

Start by specifying the data you need: annual or quarterly periods, reporting currency, reported or adjusted figures and the required history. Paid tiers expand access beyond the Free plan's US focus, but exact entitlements need checking.

A detailed table can make analysis more convenient. It still requires interpretation. A trailing metric and a forecast are not interchangeable, and a provider's normalised figure may differ from the filing for a legitimate reason. Resolve material discrepancies before building a conclusion on them.

Helmbeam is relevant when the problem is the research routine

You may already have a ticker but not know where to begin. In Helmbeam, open its company view and Numbers, identify a change worth understanding and follow it if another update could answer your question. Discover supports the earlier step of encountering candidates.

The five lenses explain the questions behind that process, helping you connect a change in the numbers with something you can investigate in the company's reports.

This can handle part of your candidate search and follow-up. If you also need a particular TIKR data field, transcript archive, model or export, check that requirement directly before switching.

Work through a valuation question without confusing inputs and answers

Suppose a company's P/E falls while its earnings rise. TIKR's financial and valuation history can help investigate the periods and assumptions. In Helmbeam, you can examine the company and its financial development, then verify the important inputs in the reports.

The lower multiple might reflect a better price, unusually high earnings or a changed outlook. Neither product's display alone chooses between those explanations. Our historical valuation guide shows why today's business must be compared with the business that existed during the earlier multiple.

TIKR's model-builder documentation describes guided and advanced P/E-based valuation tools. A model output remains conditional on earnings and multiple assumptions. Do not mistake it for a guaranteed future price, or assume every valuation tool uses discounted cash flow.

Confirm the history and plan limits you need

TIKR's public pricing page listed Plus, Pro and Ultimate monthly prices of US$24.95, US$54.95 and US$119.95 when checked. Its annual-billing view displayed lower monthly equivalents; those are not monthly cancellation prices.

The page also contained inconsistent financial-history and saved-screen limits across cards and tables. Check the relevant company, field and tier, and confirm any conflict with the provider before purchasing. The TIKR review records the details.

Helmbeam has free access and Pro features. Confirm the current entitlement for Discover, company views and following rather than assuming every trial feature remains free indefinitely.

Decide which product solves your immediate problem

Choose a company and a question before comparing subscriptions. If you need detailed historical data and valuation tools, examine TIKR's relevant plan. If you need a manageable way to discover, investigate and revisit companies, try Helmbeam's workflow.

Some readers will use both, while others will find one sufficient. The TIKR alternatives guide covers additional replacement needs. Paying for more data is useful only when you can connect it to analysis you actually perform.

3 questions
Can TIKR discover stock ideas as well as provide financial data?

Yes. TIKR documents screening and other discovery functions alongside company research. Try finding and investigating a company in each product to see which workflow fits your needs.

Does Helmbeam reproduce all TIKR financial data and models?

Helmbeam supports company discovery, examination and return visits. If you need a particular TIKR history, model, transcript or export function, verify that exact capability before treating Helmbeam as a replacement.

Is a valuation model's output a prediction I can rely on?

It is a conditional calculation. Examine the earnings, multiple or cash-flow assumptions used, test less favourable cases and distinguish the model from reported facts.
