Your choice

Optional analytics is off until you select Allow analytics. Select Reject optional to keep it off. You can still read guides, search the library and use download links when analytics is off.

Use Cookie settings in the footer of any page to change your choice. If you withdraw permission, we stop sending new optional analytics events and remove the analytics cookies and browser-storage entries that this website controls. Withdrawal does not recall information already sent. Your browser may reload to stop an analytics script that was already running.

What we store

Cookies are small files set by a website. Local storage and session storage are other ways for a website to keep information in your browser.

Your cookie choice

We store helmbeam_cookie_consent in local storage to remember whether you allowed or rejected optional analytics, when you chose, and the notice version. We keep that choice for 180 days, then ask again. This preference is needed to respect your choice; it is not used to identify you for analytics.

If your browser prevents storage, your choice applies to the current page but may not survive a reload. We show a message if the choice could not be saved.

Google Analytics, only with permission

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits to public pages and clicks on app-store and resource-download links. It can set first-party cookies beginning with _ga, including _ga_K69B86B7Y8. Our website requests a cookie lifetime of 180 days, subject to browser restrictions and later updates while consent remains valid.

Google receives usage events and the technical information needed to receive those requests, such as network and browser information. Our website’s explicit page-view events omit query strings and do not include account, checkout or app-opening pages. We disable advertising storage, advertising personalisation and Google signals in this website integration.

Helmbeam usage analytics, only with permission

Our Scydar service receives events about app invitations and store links, including the article, company ticker, placement, platform and campaign. Events may include language and time zone. These are usage measurements; a click does not prove an installation or purchase.

With permission, the website can store:

• helmbeam_product_analytics_anonymous_id: a random browser identifier in local storage.
• helmbeam_product_analytics_session_id: a random identifier in session storage.
• helmbeam_product_analytics_queue: up to 50 unsent events in local storage, removed as delivery succeeds.
• helmbeam_referral_source: a referral or campaign source in session storage.

Session storage normally ends when the browser tab closes. We remove these optional entries when you reject or withdraw permission, or when your saved permission expires. They can also be removed using your browser’s controls.

Other requests and services

The website still needs network requests to deliver pages, fonts and files. Server and security logs are separate from the optional browser analytics described here. Links to Apple, Google Play, payment services and other websites take you to services with their own policies; our preference control does not manage storage on those services.
