TIKR vs Stock Rover: financial data, screening and research workflow
TIKR is worth examining for global company financials and valuation scenarios. Stock Rover is worth examining for detailed screening connected to portfolio analysis, especially for North American securities. Both can help find ideas and investigate businesses.

Start with coverage and your research output
| Question | TIKR | Stock Rover |
|---|---|---|
| Do you need overseas company statements? | Paid global coverage is documented; Free is US-focused | Detailed company research is North America-focused |
| Do you want to construct valuation scenarios? | Guided and Advanced model tools are documented | Check the exact valuation and research tools in the required tier |
| Do you screen for fundamentals? | Financial and valuation screening | Detailed fundamental screening with tier-dependent functionality |
| Do you need portfolio analysis? | Watchlist and portfolio-related features are documented | Portfolio analytics are a major part of the documented product |
| Are reports and history unlimited? | No; access varies by plan and data type | No; history, reports and allowances vary by plan |
The portfolio row is not a claim of feature parity. Define whether you mean following prices, importing holdings, measuring returns or analysing exposures. Products can use similar labels for different tasks.
A company-research example
Imagine comparing a US manufacturer with a European peer. You need the same financial periods, a consistent currency basis for amounts and comparable treatment of acquisitions. TIKR's documented global financial coverage makes it a relevant starting point.
A table still cannot make unlike businesses directly comparable. One company may own factories while the other outsources production. Differences in margins and capital spending could reflect that structure rather than superior execution. Use the financial-statement walkthrough to connect the numbers.
A portfolio-research example
Now imagine that you own several US companies and want to examine their combined exposures before researching another. Stock Rover's documented portfolio tools become more relevant.
Check how holdings, transactions, dividends and currencies enter the analysis. A current holdings snapshot cannot independently reconstruct every historical cash flow. Treat any forecast or simulation as conditional on its method and assumptions, not as a boundary on possible losses.
Compare the price of the necessary tier
TIKR's public selector showed monthly US-dollar prices of $24.95 for Plus, $54.95 for Pro and $119.95 for Ultimate. Annual-billing equivalents were lower. Stock Rover's official FAQ listed Premium at $34 monthly or $348 annually, with higher tiers above that.
Those entry prices do not establish equivalent access. TIKR's pricing page contained conflicting history and saved-screen descriptions; ask for clarification if either is decisive. Stock Rover's trial excludes some functions and limits reports. See the separate TIKR review and Stock Rover review for the documented caveats.
A decision you can test
Choose one company and one output you need to produce. For TIKR, that might be a revenue-and-margin scenario with explicit assumptions. For Stock Rover, it might be a screen followed by a portfolio-exposure review.
Time spent learning is not automatically wasted, but count it honestly. Could you explain the final output without pointing at a rating? Can you find the source of an important number? Does the tier you will keep after a trial support the task? Those answers are more useful than a generic winner.

Frequently asked questions
Is TIKR only useful after you know a ticker?
No. TIKR documents a screener and other discovery features as well as detailed company research. It should not be described as a lookup-only tool.
Does Stock Rover cover every international company?
Do not assume that. Its detailed company-research focus is North America. Confirm the exact listing and financial data you need.
Should I choose the cheaper entry plan?
Only if it supports your required task. Compare the relevant tier and billing commitment, not two headline prices with different allowances.
