Stock Rover alternatives for screening, research and portfolio analysis
A Stock Rover replacement needs to match the task you would miss most. Financial-statement research, flexible screening and portfolio analysis are related, but one tool's strength in one area does not establish that it replaces the others.
This comparison is based on public documentation checked on 19 September 2026. We have not tested paid competitor accounts. Helmbeam is our product.

Make a replacement checklist
Stock Rover documents detailed screening, fundamental analysis, reports and portfolio tools. Before switching, list the screens, company data and portfolio functions you actually use. Separate required features from ones you have merely opened once.
For example, “screen profitable US companies” is a different requirement from “analyse the combined exposure of three brokerage accounts.” A cheaper screener might satisfy the first while leaving the second entirely unresolved.
Finviz for a US market scan
Finviz combines screening with charts, maps, news and company information. It is worth examining when you mainly want to narrow a US-listed universe and inspect the market picture. Elite adds features such as real-time quotes, exports and alerts.
Do not assume a familiar filter name uses exactly the same definition as Stock Rover. Recreate one screen, compare a few results and investigate differences in periods, missing values and coverage. Our Finviz versus Stock Rover comparison focuses on that transition.
TIKR for global financial research
TIKR is a candidate when you want statements, valuation data, transcripts and scenario tools, particularly for companies outside North America. Its global access is plan-dependent; Free is US-focused.
This is not proof that it reproduces Stock Rover's portfolio analytics. If your main use is measuring an existing portfolio, test that separately from company research. The TIKR versus Stock Rover guide explains the distinction.
Simply Wall St for visual reports and monitoring
Simply Wall St provides visual company reports, screening, ideas and portfolio functions. It may suit someone who wants a report-led overview rather than a large collection of financial filters.
Confirm the current allowances and exact portfolio inputs supported. Report access, saved-screen alerts and broker connections are separate features. A subscription that removes a report cap may still not meet your desired import or analysis workflow.
Helmbeam for a research shortlist
Helmbeam supports discovering companies, opening their company view, examining Numbers and following them for another look. It is relevant if your current use of Stock Rover is mainly finding candidates and deciding which ones to keep investigating.
A followed company in Helmbeam need not be a holding. That distinction is useful: you can monitor an idea without pretending you own it. If you require brokerage reconciliation, detailed portfolio-return accounting or a particular custom screening formula, verify those separately rather than assuming every research app provides them.
When staying with Stock Rover makes sense
If you regularly use several of its documented research and portfolio functions, switching to a cheaper single-purpose tool may leave you assembling the same workflow across multiple services. Consider the total subscription cost and the work of maintaining the data.
Conversely, a large unused feature set is not a reason to keep paying. Use a typical month of actual research as your benchmark. Could you complete those tasks with a lower tier, a free source or a simpler product?
Test with information you can verify
Use one familiar company, one screen and one small holdings list. Check whether the company periods match its filing and whether portfolio records contain the right dates and cash flows. Investigate discrepancies before importing everything or committing to an annual plan.
Keep your own research notes while testing. Software can organise the evidence, but a clear investment thesis should remain understandable outside any one dashboard.

Is Finviz a complete replacement for Stock Rover?
Not for every task. Compare the precise screening, research and portfolio features you use. Similar stock filters do not establish equivalent portfolio analysis.
Which alternative should I examine for global company research?
TIKR's paid global coverage and Simply Wall St's global reports are relevant starting points. Check the specific listing, financial history and plan access you need.
Should I migrate my portfolio before testing a replacement?
Start with a small, verifiable example. Check supported transactions, dates and cash flows before relying on a new tool's portfolio output.
